What's included
We bring our own drivers, bits, mallets, levels and wall anchors. We follow the manufacturer's instructions, check that drawers and doors run straight, and tighten everything one more time before we call it done.
- Bed frames, platform beds, storage beds and bunk beds
- Dressers, nightstands, bookcases and TV stands
- Desks, office chairs, filing cabinets and shelving for home offices
- Wardrobe systems, including corner units
- Cribs, changing tables and kids' furniture
- Outdoor and patio sets: tables, chairs, loungers and storage boxes
- Anchoring tall or top-heavy pieces to the wall to prevent tip-over
- Breaking down boxes and taking them to the curb
Common South Florida problems
Anchoring is where most DIY jobs fall short. Tall dressers and bookcases should be strapped to the wall, especially in homes with kids. On a concrete block exterior wall with drywall over furring strips, the anti-tip strap needs masonry anchors into the block, not a drywall screw. We use the right anchor for the wall behind the piece.
Outdoor furniture takes a beating from sun, humidity and salt air near the coast. We use the hardware that came with the set, and if any of it is plain steel that will rust, we point that out so you can decide whether to swap it for stainless.
Many deliveries go to condos and gated communities. Some buildings need a certificate of insurance on file, limit work to set hours or require you to reserve the service elevator. If you tell us the rules, we will schedule around them.
If you are furnishing a seasonal place before you come down for the winter, we can assemble the whole delivery in one visit so it is ready when you land.
How a visit works
Send us a list of the pieces, with brand and model or a link to each one if you have it. We will give you a starting price and a rough time estimate. Having everything delivered before we arrive saves you the cost of a return trip.
On the day, we open the boxes, check that all the parts are there and build each piece in or near the room it belongs in. Large wardrobes and beds are built in place so they fit through doorways.
If a part is missing or damaged, we let you know right away. We can build around it and finish when the replacement arrives, or come back for that piece on a later visit.
What affects the price
Prices are per piece, and they depend mostly on size and how many parts are in the box. Every visit has a $149 minimum that includes the first hour.
- Small pieces (nightstand, chair, bookcase): starting at $79
- Dresser or desk: starting at $129
- Bed frame: starting at $149
- Storage bed or bunk bed: starting at $229
- Small wardrobe system: starting at $199
- Large or corner wardrobe system: starting at $349
- Wall anchors or straps we supply: at cost plus 20 percent
- Extra time beyond the quoted pieces: $85 per hour
Tips before we arrive
Have the boxes in or near the rooms where the furniture will go, and clear a space on the floor about the size of the finished piece. A moving blanket or rug protects tile and wood floors while we build.
If the piece will stand against an exterior wall, let us know ahead of time. Those walls are often concrete block, and we bring masonry anchors for the anti-tip strap.
For condo deliveries, check whether the building needs a certificate of insurance before we come and if you have to reserve the elevator. Sorting that out the week before keeps the visit on schedule.
What we don't do
We do not wire anything into the wall, such as a hardwired light on a headboard or a wardrobe. Plug-in items are fine. For hardwired work, we will point you to a licensed electrician. We also do not haul furniture or boxes to the dump, only to your curb or building trash area.
Questions we get about furniture assembly
How long does it take to assemble a dresser?
Most dressers take one to two hours, depending on the number of drawers and parts. A large wardrobe system can take longer. We give you a time estimate when you send the model.
Do you anchor furniture to the wall?
Yes, and we recommend it for tall dressers, bookcases and wardrobes. We use the anti-tip kit that came with the piece, or supply one, and choose anchors for drywall, studs or block.
Can you assemble a crib?
Yes. We follow the manufacturer's instructions exactly, check every bolt and show you how the mattress height adjusts.
Do you take away the boxes?
We break down the boxes and packaging and take them to your curb or your building's recycling area. We do not haul them off site.
Can you assemble furniture before I arrive for the season?
Yes. If someone can let us in, or your home watch company has a key, we can assemble the delivery and send you photos when it is done.
Can you put together outdoor patio furniture?
Yes. We assemble tables, chairs, loungers, sectionals and storage boxes, then level them on your patio or pool deck. If any included hardware looks likely to rust in salt air, we point it out.
Where we do this most
We do furniture assembly across Palm Beach and Broward. These are some of the cities where we get asked for it most.
