What's included
We find the part that failed, replace it with a matching part, and run the fixture until it stops dripping or hissing. If a faucet is too worn to repair, we can swap it for a like-for-like faucet on the same connections.
- Faucet cartridges, washers, seats and O-rings
- Clogged or crusted aerators cleaned or replaced
- Toilet flappers, fill valves, handles and chains
- Toilets that run, refill on their own or flush weakly
- Supply lines replaced on an existing faucet or toilet
- Shutoff valve check, so you know the water can be turned off
Common South Florida problems
Hard water is the usual cause. Minerals build up on cartridges, aerators and flapper seats, so faucets drip, sprayers sputter and toilets slowly leak into the bowl. We clean what can be cleaned and replace what is worn or crusted over.
Snowbird homes and seasonal condos see a lot of this. Rubber parts dry out when a fixture sits unused for months, and a flapper that sealed fine in April can run nonstop in November. Running each fixture after you return catches it early.
Old supply lines are worth a look too. A braided line with rust at the fittings, or a plastic line that has gone brittle, is cheap to replace and can cause real water damage if it fails while nobody is home.
How a visit works
Text us a photo of the faucet or the inside of the toilet tank, plus the brand if you can find it. That helps us bring the right cartridge or valve, so the job gets done in one trip.
Our tech shuts off the water at the fixture, takes the old part out and matches it. If the right part is not on the truck, we pick it up locally. Then we reassemble, turn the water back on and check for leaks under the sink and around the tank.
If a shutoff valve is frozen or leaks when we turn it, we stop and talk with you before going further, because some of those fixes go beyond a minor repair.
We leave the cabinet dry and tell you which parts we replaced.
What affects the price
Most single repairs fit inside the minimum visit. Price goes up with the number of fixtures, hard-to-find parts and how stuck the old parts are.
- Faucet cartridge repair or a like-for-like faucet swap: starting at $149 plus parts
- Running toilet fix with a new flapper or fill valve: starting at $149 plus parts
- Extra fixtures in the same visit, billed at $85 per hour after the first hour
- Parts billed at cost plus 20%, or use parts you already bought
- An unplanned run for a special part is a flat $49
- Corroded nuts and seized cartridges take longer to remove
What we don't do
We keep to minor fixture repairs. We do not add or move supply lines, install fixtures where none existed, work on water heaters, look for slab leaks, or clear or repair drain lines. A leak at the base of a toilet, a leak inside a wall, or water coming up through the floor needs a plumber, and we'll point you to a licensed contractor for it.
If you see active leaking you cannot stop, turn off the main water first and call a plumber right away.
Tips before we arrive
Clear out the cabinet under the sink so our tech can reach the shutoff valves and supply lines. If you know the brand or model of the faucet, or kept the box or manual, set it out.
Questions we get about leaky faucets and running toilets
Why does my toilet keep running?
Most of the time the flapper is worn or crusted with minerals and no longer seals, or the fill valve is set too high and water spills into the overflow tube. Both are quick fixes with a new flapper or fill valve.
How much does it cost to fix a leaky faucet?
A faucet cartridge repair starts at $149 plus parts, which is our minimum visit with the first hour included. If the faucet is too worn to repair, a like-for-like swap on the same connections starts at the same $149 plus the faucet.
Is it worth fixing an old faucet or should I replace it?
If parts are still made for it and the body is in good shape, a new cartridge is usually the cheaper fix. If the finish is pitted, the base leaks, or parts are hard to find, a like-for-like replacement often makes more sense. We will tell you which way we would go.
Can you fix a slow drain or a clogged toilet?
No. Drain lines are outside our scope. For clogs and drain problems, call a plumber.
My water pressure is low at one faucet. What causes that?
A clogged aerator is the most common cause, especially with hard water. We clean or replace the aerator and check the cartridge. If pressure is low throughout the house, that points to a bigger issue for a plumber.
Where we do this most
We do leaky faucets and running toilets across Palm Beach and Broward. These are some of the cities where we get asked for it most.
