What's included
We pull each screen, remove the old mesh and spline, roll in new mesh with new spline, trim it clean and reinstall the screen. If a frame is bent or a corner is broken, we fix or rebuild it.
- Rescreening window screens with standard fiberglass mesh
- Pet-resistant screen for homes with dogs and cats
- Solar screen mesh to cut down sun and glare on hot windows
- Bent or broken frames, corners and pull tabs replaced
- Worn spline replaced so the mesh stays tight
- Sliding screen doors rescreened, with rollers and handles adjusted or replaced
- Small damaged panels on pool cages and screen enclosures
Common South Florida problems
Sun is hard on screens. UV breaks down fiberglass mesh and rubber spline over the years, so screens get brittle, sag and tear with a light push. Salt air near the coast and the Intracoastal also corrodes aluminum frames and hardware.
Sliding screen doors take the most wear. Kids, pets and daily traffic push them off their track, and sand in the track wears out the rollers. A new roller set and a clean track often fix a door that drags or jumps out.
Pets push through standard mesh. If a dog or cat is the reason your screen keeps tearing, pet-resistant screen is thicker and holds up much better.
Pool cages and screen enclosures get torn panels from storms, falling branches and wear. We can replace a few individual panels, but rescreening a whole enclosure is a different kind of job.
How a visit works
Count the screens that need work and send photos of any bent frames or sliding doors. Tell us if you want standard, pet or solar mesh. We will give you a starting price for the batch.
On the day, our tech sets up a work table in your garage, driveway or patio, pulls the screens and works through them one by one. Each screen goes back in the window it came from, tight and square.
For sliding screen doors, we take the door off its track, rescreen it, check the rollers and adjust it so it glides and latches.
We take the old mesh and spline with us and sweep up before we leave.
What affects the price
The number of screens and the type of mesh set most of the price. Batching all your screens into one visit is the most efficient way to do it.
- Standard window rescreening on site: $35 per screen
- Sliding door screen: $79
- Pet-resistant screen: add $10 per screen
- Solar screen and replacement frames are quoted by material, billed at cost plus 20%
- Every visit has a $149 minimum, and time beyond the first hour is $85 per hour
- Second-story screens that need a ladder from outside take longer
- Pool cage panel repairs are billed by time at $85 per hour after the first hour, plus mesh
What we don't do
We do not rescreen entire pool cages or screen enclosures. For a full rescreen, call a screen enclosure company. We also do not repair the aluminum structure of an enclosure or replace windows themselves. If a window or frame needs replacing, we'll point you to a licensed contractor.
Tips before we arrive
Clear furniture and blinds away from the windows we are working on so our tech can pull the screens without moving your things. If some screens are already off and stored in the garage, set them out and tell us which window each one belongs to.
If you live in a gated community or condo building, let us know about vendor registration or work hours ahead of time so we can send a certificate of insurance before the visit.
Questions we get about window screen repair
How much does it cost to rescreen a window?
Standard rescreening on site is $35 per screen, and a sliding door screen is $79. Pet-resistant mesh adds $10 per screen. Our $149 minimum visit applies, so a batch of screens in one trip is the best value.
Can you fix a hole in my pool cage screen?
Yes, for small repairs. We replace individual torn panels on pool cages and screen enclosures. We do not rescreen full enclosures. For that, a screen enclosure company is the right call.
What is the difference between pet screen and regular screen?
Pet-resistant screen uses a thicker, stronger mesh that holds up to claws and paws much better than standard fiberglass. It costs a little more and is a bit less see-through, so many people use it only on doors and low windows.
Is solar screen worth it in Florida?
It can help on windows that get strong afternoon sun, because the tighter mesh blocks more light and heat than standard screen. It also makes the view a bit darker. We can show you samples before you decide.
My sliding screen door keeps coming off the track. Can you fix it?
Usually, yes. Worn rollers, a bent frame or a dirty track are the common causes. We clean the track, replace or adjust the rollers and rescreen the door if needed.
Where we do this most
We do window screen repair across Palm Beach and Broward. These are some of the cities where we get asked for it most.
